From connecting your wallet to sending a transfer takes four actions. Below is each step in detail: what to tap, what happens and why it works this way.
In TronLink (or Trust Wallet) open the “Discover” tab and go to tronergy.app. Tap “Connect wallet” and confirm in your wallet.
Why: the DApp runs inside your wallet and only sees your address. Your keys and funds stay with you — nothing happens without your signature.
In the “Buy slots” block choose the amount (from 10) and tap the button. Confirm the transaction — one slot costs 0.8 TRX. New wallets get 2 slots for free.
What a slot is: the right to get energy for one transfer. Slots never expire and wait as long as you need — pay once, use them whenever. Slots are tied to your wallet; if you move to a new address, take them with you using the “move slots” button.
Ready to send USDT — tap “ENERGY 0.1 TRX” (if you have 500+ USDT on the wallet) or “ENERGY 3 TRX” (if you have less). Confirm — energy arrives within seconds. The 0.1 TRX option uses 1 slot; the 3 TRX option does not use a slot — you pay only 3 TRX. You can check it arrived in TronLink, in the Energy line. Issuing wallets are assigned at random, and for some of them issuing costs just 0.01 TRX instead of 0.1 — lucky you, the transfer comes out even cheaper.
Important: energy stays valid for 10 minutes — send your transfer right after you get it. The 0.01–0.1 TRX goes to the system for issuing the energy.
If the system did not issue energy with 500+ USDT on the wallet: this is a rare network restriction for a specific address. Fix: create a new wallet in TronLink, move your USDT there and get energy on it. Move your slots with the “move slots” button.
Right away, make a regular USDT transfer from your wallet. The network covers the fee with energy — the whole transfer cost you 0.9 TRX instead of ~13.
A note on bandwidth: a USDT transfer also uses network bandwidth. If your wallet's free daily limit is used up, the network charges an extra ~0.36 TRX — this is a network fee, not ours, and it applies whichever way you get energy.
Need another transfer? Two taps again: get energy → send.
No TRX at all? Without TRX, USDT cannot be sent anywhere — first get a few TRX onto your wallet: withdraw from an exchange, ask someone to send some, or buy via P2P. After that you can use energy and the USDT → TRX swap in the app.
Is it safe? Non-custodial: no transfers to “energy addresses”, so there is no address to mix up; no approvals or multisig are ever requested.
